What permission can I set that will allow a set of users to edit any item in a list even if the list's item level permissions are set to "Create
items and edit items that were created by the user"?
I have a list where I have applied the setting "Create items and edit items that were created by the user" to stop most users from touching items that they did not create.
We have a set of users for the site, however, that regardless of the above setting on the list they should be able to edit all items. But we don't want to let them have full ownership of the list and be able to change any other settings on the list (or potentially delete the list).
I created a new permission level and ticked "Override List Behaviours" and applied this permission for these special users on the list. However they still cannot edit items that they did not create.
When you are in the settings for the list and apply the item-level permissions, the help in the side bar says "Note: Users with the Cancel Checkout permission can read and edit all items". However when you go into the permission level settings page for the site, and create a custom permission level, there is no "Cancel Checkout permission" specifically that is selectable. The closest one I could find was this "Override List Behaviours".
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Richard
