Distributed Cache will not work after renaming the server

Dear,

My SharePoint farm is recently renamed.

Since then I can not start the Distributed Cache service.

I was be able to restart the AppFabric Caching Service, I used Remove-CacheCluster.

The host is still pointing to the old name. If I use the AppFabric Administration 1.1.0 Tool. I see in the hosts list the host with the old server name.

When I try to start the service through Central Administration, I get the error CacheHostInfo is null.

When I try "Use-CacheCluster", I get "ErrorCode<ERRCAdmin040>:Substatus<ES0001>: Failed to connect to hosts in the cluster.

I already tried this:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj891108.aspx and

http://blogs.dawnworld.org/2013/01/10/distrubited-cache-in-sharepoint-2013/ and

http://rakasatria.wordpress.com/2013/02/04/sharepoint-2013-spdistributedcacheserviceinstance-cachehostinfo-is-null/

I already tried Add-SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance, Unregister-CacheHost and all other possible commands.

I'm getting a bit desperate. How can I get the right host name. Everything works good, except of the Distributed Cache Service. My SharePoint Site is really slow now.

Thank you for your help.

Kind Regards,

Edit:

I just saw the AppFabric Caching Service going to Disabled in the Services. I have two items in "Review Problems and solutions": "One of the cache hosts in the cluster is down" and "This Distributed Cache host may cause cache reliability problems."
