As no one seems to be able to do more than offer a general opinion, I thought I would go out on a limb and post here.
From Windows, it is decidedly easy to create a webDAV folder for Sharepoint in Office 365. Just use thhp://<doman>.sharepoint.com/teamsite. Works like a charm.
On a Mac, creating a webDAV folder is done by using Finder->Go->Connect... I have tried almost every variant of http, https, and with and without /teamsite and by substituting legitimate library names. Each time an error pops up that it can't connect, and there is no user name/password prompt nor further explanation.
So anyone have any suggestions? Does it fail because (as one Apple forum user suggested) because Microsoft has blocked anything but Windows from doing so (hard to believe)? Or is it a bad implementation by Apple? Or a problem with Office 365, in other words, can a Mac connect to an on-premise SharePoint instance but no Office 365?
Have a user who is a total Mac maniac and needs to do this.
