Error adding a new SharePoint 2010 synchronization connection to Active Diretory 2000: Unable to process Create message

Hi,

I have a sharepoint server 2010 farm. The farm is sucessfully conected and sincronized to a domain in an active directory 2008 r2 domain controler.
Now, in the profile service application, I'm trying to add a new connection to a domain in a windows 2000 domain controler. I'm following the same steps that I take, when configuring the conection to the Windows 2008 r2 domain controler, but, when i do it, I got an error just after click the ok button, on the new synchronization connection screen. The error message is:

Unable to process Create message

In the log file, I found this error with the correlation ID:

originalMaConfiguration.Create or UpdateResource failed at step Create Connection
--- Microsoft.ResourceManagement.WebServices.Faults.ServiceFaultException: Unable to process Create message
at Microsoft.ResourceManagement.WebServices.Client.ResourceTemplate.CreateResource()
at Microsoft.ResourceManagement.WebServices.ResourceManager.CreateResource()
at Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.DirectoryServiceConnection.UpdateInternal()    01738544-c4d5-4ccf-8396-ac281747864b

The user have "Domain Controler Administrator" priveliges.

In a quick search in the web, I found that I need to migrate my AD 2000 Domain Controler to at last AD 2003 Domain Controler. Is this corret? There's nothing in the SharePoint 2010 user profile service application documentation about AD 2000 compability.

Should I assume that this functionality of SharePoint 2010 is not compatible with AD 2000 once it worked fine with AD 2008 r2?

Please help! :(
