Have two site collections that started out identical; literally used spcopy in powershell to copy into the site collections.
One site used a set of instructions to create a blog subsite and create some practice posts and comments. About 30 days later, the same instructions were used on the other site to create a blog subsite, posts, and comments. The problem is that the comments feature is unavailable. You can't add comments to the comment list even directly in the list. Going back to the first blog site, you can no longer add comments to it as well. It doesn't matter who you are logged in as or where you try to add comments from. You can still see the comments that were added to the first site 30 days ago and you can edit them as normal items.
The Comment web part on the individual posts is visible with either "there are no comments for this post" or the previous comments. The text entry box is missing from all posts and when you click "comment" then nothing happens.
Any suggestions?
