Hi Folks,
One of my client is asking to delete SharePoint 2013 Public Site.
Below is the structure of the site,
1) he has created a web application
2) Under that there is site collection
3)Under that site collection there is a SharePoint site (Public site)
he wants to delete the public site as he has created the same site in different technology and hosted in new server.
So need some guidance on same.
1) Will deleting the public site will make some free space on server (Performance point of view) ?
2) If so what is the best practice to delete public site in SharePoint which is registered with some domain ?
3) Do we need to take back-up of database, web application and IIS-web folder before deleting public site ?
4) OR we can just stop the site from IIS web server as it is no longer useful .
5) There is alternate access mapping also configured for the same site.
Need the guidance of standard practice for deleting the public site in SharePoint and prerequisites
Any help would be more than welcome
