I have the following incredibly frustrating scenario, consisting of:
- Project Server 2010 installed on top of Sharepoint 2010 in a stand-alone installation on Windows 2008 R2.
- Desktop Experience and WebClient are both running on the server.
- WebClient is running on my local machine.
- My local OS is Windows 7 64-bit with MS Office 2007 and Sharepoint Designer 2010 installed.
- Browser is IE8 32-bit
When I try to change a document library to Explorer View I get the dreaded "Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer" message.
However - I have another installation of just Sharepoint 2010 (i.e., no Project Server 2010), and I CAN change a document library to Explorer View in that installation.
So the problem is that I have everything that needs to be turned on and/or configured correctly to view document libraries in Explorer View, and I can in fact do that in one instance of Sharepoint 2010 (the one without Project Server 2010), but not in the other. A colleague of mine has has Windows XP on his local machine and he is able to view the Project Server 2010 document library in Explorer View in IE8 32-bit.
Anyone have any ideas?
