Good afternoon all!
My company is migrating from a SBS2011 server to new hardware with Server 2016 installed. I am in the process of testing the migration of AD, DHCP, DNS, File Server, and all that good stuff. Everything is going well except for setting up our IIS internal website.
We have previously been using SharePoint Foundations on our SBS2011 server for our internal website. However, when I try to install SharePoint 2013 Foundations (I understand there will be no free version of sharepoint 2016), is gives me an error when installing the prerequisites. The error says it can't install the application server role.
Has anyone else come across this? Is there no free version of SharePoint Server that can be installed on Server 2016, or am I missing something here?
