PerformancePoint 2013 Dashboard Designer Data Source to Analysis Services Not Working As Expected

I am having some issues getting my data source connection to Analysis Services 2008 R2 to work through Dashboard Designer 2013.

I finally got the drop down to show my cube and the test connection works every other time.

When I go to the time tab of the data source connection I get the following error when I try to browse for a date "to begin the year for the selected dimension":

Invalid parameters when querying for the child members of a member or dimension.

If I try to create a new Analysis Services report my measures and dimensions do not load in the details pane.  This is also flaky.  Sometimes, just the measures load; but, not the dimensions.

Other pertinent information:

My trusted data sources and trusted content locations are set to all SharePoint locations.

Both my service account and farm account have been made administrators on the analysis services box.

My architecture is a 3-tier farm w/ a WFE, an APP server, and a database server running SQL Server 2012 standard edition.  I have not attempted anything w/ PowerPivot at this point so that has not been installed.

Dimension/Cell level security does not exist in the current cube at this point in time.

I've tried different things like using an unattended service account, then using an unattended service account target application id. I've tried 'Use EffectiveUserName' and not using it.  I've generated a new key, re-set the credentials.

One thing I noticed, after I edited the PerformancePoint Service application a dialog came up saying that the PP service app was successfully updated, listed what had changed, and some additional configuration steps. Then it says:

Connecton to Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services:

In order for PerformancePoint to connect to Analysis Services data sources (including PowerPivot workboks), you may need to install the PowerPivot for SharePoint installation package (2013 or later.)  This package must be installed on every farm server that runs the PerformancePoint service.

I am not planning on using PowerPivot at this moment.  Is this required to use PerformancePoint on a traditional SSAS non-tabular UDM database?  Does this mean I need to two more SQL Server licenses?

Thank you for any help or advice you can provide.

Never mind.  I fixed it.  Deleted the web application and started over.  Worked like a charm.  I guess I jiggled it too much trying to get it to work.
