We are migrating to SharePoint 2013 from SharePoint 2010. When it comes to migrate MySites, User Profiles and Managed Metadata we have done this:
1. Restored an mounted 2010 MySites DB on 2013.
2. Restored the 2010 Managed Metadata DB and specified it as the Managed Metadata Service database through the 2013 Central Administration, Managed Medadata Service Application properties.
3. Restored the User Profile DB, created a new User Profile Service Application with that DB (and Soacial DB), created UPSync Connection and did a full sync.
Everything seems to be working and we can see that the databases are upgraded. And the users are getting their MyContent into SkyDrivePro. But is this the supported way to do this or have we missed something?
