SharePoint 2013 search url

Hi, using sharepoint 2013 standard server

I automatically set the search url in powershell when i create my site collections. I have set up an Enterprise search.

I was wondering if it is any point to set the search url (in the site collections), or just leave it blank, it seems to search fine without me putting the search url there..?
