Does Office Web apps server with https connection require Sharepoint to run with SSL?

Hi

If I set up owa Office web apps server 2013 with https connection.

Will i have to use SSL on my Sharepoint 2013 Server webapplication-sites to be able to use the Office web apps server office view/edit ?

I am currently using a SharePoint (2013 server) intranet environment on http, where the office web apps server functionality is not working.
