To test my migration to SP Foundation 2013, I am facing an issue hoping someone can assist. Here is the scenario:
- I have a WebPart (FusionChartsFree) that has been deployed via a solution to my SP Foundation 2010 Production farm.
- I have successfully deployed the solution to my SP Foundation 2013 farm.
- I have successfully migrated my content DBs to the SP Foundation 2013 farm.
- I have activated the feature to all my site collections.
When I try to add the WebPart to a page - I get the "cannot import ChartFromList Web Part." error.
- I have deactivated and re-activated the feature.
- I have even retracted the solution, removed, redeployed and reactivated but I still get the error.
- While troubleshooting, I have noticed that the .webpart files are in the Site WebPart gallery but these files are not the recent .webpart files. They are rather the old .webpart files.
- I have tested that on sites where the feature was not activated, these .webpart files did not exist and I do see that the new .webpart files get placed when I activate the feature. Therefore, I know that the webpart does work.
The problem is how do I get rid of all these .webpart files that should have been removed while the feature got de-activated, retracted and removed. The .webpart files are still there and the only way to make the webpart work is to first get rid of these old .webpart files, then de-activate and re-activate the feature. Removing the .webpart files is problematic for these reasons:
- When I go to the webpart gallery, every action in the ribbon is greyed out so I cannot delete it. The only way I can delete is if I open the gallery through Explorer.
- I have 100s of site collections and I'd rather not do this manually.
If anyone has any insight on this, it would be very much appreciated!
Thank you,
Rumi
