Wondering if anyone has been able to get PowerPivot running in SharePoint 2013 when the PowerPivot SSAS instance is SQL Server 2008R2?
I built out a demo machine with SharePoint 2013 running on SQL 2008R2 and that runs fine. Got Excel Services up and running no prob...but the PowerPivot SQL SSAS instance will not even install. Says it can't find a SharePoint 2010 farm (which makes sense since there isn't one...it's 2013)
Anyway, it's looking like this configuration doesn't work. Need to know for sure for clients though. This link is a little vague with it's wording saying you "need" sql 2012 but seem to be talking more about the new Excel 2013 data model changes rather than just having PowerPivot working. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219634.aspx
anyway, if anyone has any additional experience on trying to get PowerPivot from SQL 2008R2 working with SharePoint 2013....I would love to hear from you.
My thanks in advance.
