I'm planning the upgrade of our SharePoint 2010 infrastructure to SharePoint 2013 and am wondering whether it is possible to share the same SQL 2012 Server between a SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 farm?
It looks like the service application databases (for service apps like search, user profile service, etc) use GUIDs in their names so are probably unique, but at least one db (WSS_Logging) would be the same on 2010 and 2013.
Are there any best practices for this scenario - for example is it better to used named instances to separate the SQL backends for the SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 farms?
