NabhenduHi,
I am working in a sharepoint2013 project. In our project we are trying to open the file with Access option in ribbon and it is not working in IE8 sp2013 64 bit environment. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue?
Thanks,
NabhenduI believe I have mysite configured correctly but when I go to add in the URL it takes the default zone. I create the web app on port 8443 for search and extended to 443 using ADFS for authentication. When I put mysite.URL.com into the mysite configuration once I hit 'ok' it changes it to mysite.URL.com:8443. Even if I put mysite.URL.com:443 it still changes it. This does not work as 8443 is setup to us NTLM for the search crawler.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

I have created web application and my site, configure the user profile service based on the link:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624362(v=office.15).aspx
but when I click newsfeed or skydrive, it navigates to below :
no newsfeed link on the left menu.
Any suggestions? thanks in advance.

I have a task list whose items are not showing in the Tasks on My Sites. This list originally was not being crawled in the search but I changed the List Settings to allow the results to show.
I can search an task and it will show in the results but does not aggregate to the Tasks. Is there something that has been flagged that I need to change? I have reset the index on the server too and completed a full crawl but this doesn't seem to have helped. I am a Site Collection Administrator so permissions shouldn't be an issue.
We've been having issues with Tasks Lists in SharePoint 2013 Enterprise On Prem.
The "Assigned To" user for some tasks on any given task list seem to be randomly clearing out for some users. What's odd is that it's usually only one users tasks affected, but it happens to ALL tasks assigned to that user.
Sometimes it's the user who created the list and assigned all the tasks, other times it's another user. But whenever it happens all the tasks for that user are cleared, regardless of anything else (due date, progress, etc).
Usually after re-assigning the tasks it works fine but sometimes it clears it again.
One other thing to note is that I recently setup the relationship between our Exchange 2013 and SharePoint 2013 server so tasks can be synced between Outlook and SharePoint. This feature has been shaky at best, sometimes the tasks lists in SharePoint will sync, other times they won't.
Hey SharePoint Fam,
Have a weird error going on whenever I try to access allitems view of a list. Whenever I try to view i get error:
Compiler Error Message: CS0006: Metadata file 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\c1bab9c7\456f6a67\App_Web_m554c4us.dll' could not be found
Have no clue where this one file could have gone. Did deploy SP1 2 days ago but the error just started today, is there a way i could simply copy this file back to location somehow?
Thanks N Advance

The July 8, 2014 SharePoint 2013 updates supplied by the monthly Microsoft "Patch Tuesday" (2nd Tuesday of every month) refuse to install on my SharePoint 2013 system. The failure is error code 8007066E.
The four Windows Update-supplied patches that refuse to install are:
KB2863826
KB2863837
KB2881003
KB2881077
Is this another case of a "bad patch" (remember the bad SP1)?
I eagerly await Microsoft's "fix for the fix".
If you think development is tough now, think how hard it was using punched cards :-)
I installed the Trial Version of SharePoint Server 2013 not knowing that it was Limited to Upgrade to a Enterprise Only License.
So Seems like my options are:
I was hoping for a Third Option. Create a new Server, then some how Point the new Server to the Existing Sql Server and have it get all of its Settings and Config from there?
What is my Best Path, I'm about 92 Days into My Trial.
Thanks!
Everyday random SP site becomes inaccessible to users connected via WFE. Sometimes it's whole site collection, sometimes it's specific subsite. Common symptom has been high CPU usage by w3wp.exe process (AppPool)
on affected WFE. After couple minutes of wait time, users get error message: "Something went wrong ....." Upon check with correlation ID, it seems like request is waiting, possibly on DB; but when I look up on DB and App servers, there is not hike
in system resource or error logged.

We are able to temporarily fix it by recycling AppPool on affected WFE but unable to find root cause and solution. Best bet looks like to open case but wanted to give a shot or atleast try to identify the source of issue.

We are getting ready to upgrade to SharePoint 2013 from 2010. Our test environment is complete and we've set up the soon-to-be production servers (pre-prod).
The service applications have been restored to the pre-prod environment, the June 2013 CU has been implemented and the third party applications have been installed.My question is about the upgrade of the content databases. Our plan is to restore the content databases to complete the build of the pre-prod environment, then modify our local host files so we can test everything in the pre-prod environment.
Once that testing is complete we would remove the upgraded content databases then restore them again before going live, then having the network and server teams update the IP addresses, load balancers, etc.
Would there be any issues with upgrading the content databases, deleting, then upgrading again before going live?
TIAHello,
There are multiple questions whose clarifications are required.
Situation: Users need to open the documents in browser, check-out, edit, add comments/annotations and check-in without using Client Acrobat Reader.
Based on the above situation, please let me know about the following:
1. Is it mandatory to buy Adobe Acrobat XI Pro license to integrate with SharePoint 2013?
2. Is Office Web Apps Server 2013 cannot provide the functionality as per situation so that i don't need to buy licenses for Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?
3. If point no 1 is Yes then what is the procedure of configuring/enabling Adobe Acrobat XI Pro with SharePoint 2013.
Thanks.

I had a working SharePoint 2013 environment but then we had to install the language pack (Dutch) as we have multilanguage people in the company.
Our setup:
SharePoint 2013: OS Server 2012
SQL Server 2012: OS Server 2012
Language pack to install: Dutch
I installed it, all went fine, no exceptions, no errors. After the installment of the language pack (Dutch) it asks to run the Configuration Wizard again. So I did but it keeps failing on step 7 of 8.
The logfile shows:

We recently installed SharePoint 2013 Service Pack 1 and have since been troubled by Explorer View. Very often Explorer View doesn't work. This error often appears:
"We're having a problem opening this location in File Explorer. Add this web site to your Trusted Sites list and try again."
The weird thing is that sometimes the Explorer View works just fine, but more often it doesn't. There's are a lot of blogs / topics about this on the internet, but they all didn't help resolve this issue. We use persistent cookies for our STS (AllowSessionCookies == false), we've added the site to Trusted Sites, made sure WebClient service is running on the clients, cleared cookie caches, etc., etc.
Explorer View works fine when we connect to Office 365 instances. But our local farm has these problems. We use ADFS auth.
Our problems actually resemble the problems this guy had:
http://blog.skadefro.dk/2011/09/sharepoint-2010-and-webdav.html
But his fix doesn't seem to apply to us.
This all started after installing Service Pack 1, so could this be a Service Pack 1 issue?
hi ,
i am struggling to make OWA (exchange 2013 ) webpart work on SharePoint 2013 (on premise) .
issue details :
when i add the OWAInbox webpart to any page and configure it with the OWA link provided then it throws error that "
"This content cannot be displayed in a frame",and you must log into OWA in another browser window in order to make the Page Viewer web part display the desired content"
i tried same with and without PageViewer web part too .
but it is not working inspite of applying many below solutions :
i tried many solutions from various posts :
Solution 1
SharePoint page developers can opt-out of clickjacking protection by adding the AllowFraming control to their .aspx pages: <WebPartPages:AllowFraming runat="server" />
This control instructs SharePoint not to send the X-Frame-Options header when this page is requested. Without the X-Frame-Options header, the page is able to be IFRAMED.
Solution 2
There is a third party solution to be deployed on the webapplication in in which you want to open the site in an IFrame.
As per the below image and url : http://ventigrate.codeplex.com/releases/view/79825
We activated the specific feature on specific we app : but still not worked
Solution 3
Open Internet Explorer
Press Alt + T on your keyboard to show the Tools menu
Click Internet Options
Click the Security tab
Select the Trusted sites zone
Click the Sites button
Type https://login.microsoftonline.com or other site URL into the Add this website to the zone:field
Click Add
Click Close
Click Apply
Click OK
Close Internet Explorer
Solution 4
The URL of Outlook Web App in Exchange Online must have an exsvurl=1 in the webpart URL in order to make the web part work(https://test.domain.com/owa/?exsvurl=1&cmd=contents)
if the above approach results in your Page Viewer web part displaying "This content cannot be displayed in a frame",and you must log into OWA in another browser window in order to make the Page Viewer web part display the desired content, you can try this URL instead: https://test.domain.com.no /owa/?exsvurl=1&cmd=contents&realm=<tenantid>.onmicrosoft.com where <tenantid> is the name of your tenant, e.g. kksrv19.
Tried with other url types like : https://test.domain.com /owa /?exsvurl=1&cmd=contents&f=Calendar&view=Weekly
Solution 5
To Apply files for Cross domain and client access policy to bypass the cross domain issue if any
CrossDomainXml file Solution
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<cross-domain-policy>
<allow-access-from domain="*.kragero.kommune.no"/>
</cross-domain-policy>
Clientaccesspolicy.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<access-policy>
<cross-domain-access>
<policy>
<allow-from http-request-headers="*">
<domain uri="*" />
<domain uri="https://*" />
</allow-from>
<grant-to>
<resource path="/" include-subpaths="true"/>
</grant-to>
</policy>
</cross-domain-access>
</access-policy>
Solution 6
By applying the Javascript to get cross domain access
<script type="text/javascript">
var isIE8 = window.XDomainRequest ? true : false;
var invocation = createCrossDomainRequest();
var url = 'http://test.domain.com';
function createCrossDomainRequest(url, handler)
{
var request;
if (isIE8)
{
request = new window.XDomainRequest();
}
else
{
request = new XMLHttpRequest();
}
return request;
}
function callOtherDomain()
{
if (invocation)
{
if(isIE8)
{
invocation.onload = outputResult;
invocation.open("GET", url, true);
invocation.send();
}
else
{
invocation.open('GET', url, true);
invocation.onreadystatechange = handler;
invocation.send();
}
}
else
{
var text = "No Invocation TookPlace At All";
var textNode = document.createTextNode(text);
var textDiv = document.getElementById("textDiv");
textDiv.appendChild(textNode);
}
}
function handler(evtXHR)
{
if (invocation.readyState == 4)
{
if (invocation.status == 200)
{
outputResult();
}
else
{
alert("Invocation Errors Occured");
}
}
}
function outputResult()
{
var response = invocation.responseText;
var textDiv = document.getElementById("textDiv");
textDiv.innerHTML += response;
}
</script>
Please help me to solve this mistry by providing the fix for this
*note that this is not the SharePoint online. i need it for the on premise
thanks

I have library with 'require checkout' set that contains mpp and vsdx files. I have MS Project and Visio 2013 (SP1) installed locally.
If I choose edit for one of the mpp files, it simply opens in MS project as read-only and doesn't allow me to save it (only as a local copy). There's no option to check-out anywhere. Obviously I can check-out manually in SP before opening then check in again afterward but it seems clearly wrong that I'm allowed to click "Edit", make changes, but then be unable to save back to SP again (even if you switch back to SP to check-out, Project thinks you've opened it Read Only and won't let you save back to SP).
For Visio it's even worse - when I choose Edit for a vsdx file, it opens in Visio as though I can edit it, but when I try to save it says "UPLOAD FAILED! You'll need to check-out the file before we can upload changes", and presents a "CHECK OUT & UPLOAD" button, but clicking this just gives the same error. Not only that, but the 'Check-Out' button on the Info page does nothing at all, I've confirmed it simply doesn't even send any request to SharePoint to do anything, and no errors are reported anywhere.
This surely isn't the intended behaviour?
Hi All,
I've been configuring a SharePoint 2013 lab environment on Azure following this useful post: http://blogs.technet.com/b/keithmayer/archive/2013/01/07/step-by-step-build-a-free-sharepoint-2013-lab-in-the-cloud-with-windows-azure-31-days-of-servers-in-the-cloud-part-7-of-31.aspx
I've configured everything ok, but when I try to create a Publishing Portal, an error message appears, saying that the "trial period has expired".
Searching on the web I found this post: http://blogs.technet.com/b/wbaer/archive/2014/01/10/sharepoint-server-2013-trial-in-windows-azure-updated.aspx, where I read that the trial image will expire on July 6, 2014.
Any ideas or suggestions on what can I do apart from activating SharePoint with a product key?
Thanks in advance.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to solve it short of re-installing SharePoint and avoiding that update?
